Situated in a prime residential area within easy reach of the M5 and M6 motorways, Avondale is situated on the A451 (Norton Road) 1.5 miles from Stourbridge town centre.
The home provides the perfect home from home for those who, for some reason or another, find themselves unable to cope on their own or who may require constant care.

Avondale strives to be a homely place that aims to provide a high standard of care, quality of life, independence and dignity for its residents within a happy relaxed atmosphere.

Services and Facilities

All rooms at Avondale are single. All rooms have private washing facilities and 10 of the 15 rooms offer private toilet facilities. Rooms are located either on the ground or first floor and first floor rooms are accessed via a lift, so there are no stairs to negotiate. Residents can have either a bath or a shower at Avondale, a shower room is available where residents can sit down to shower and a power assisted bath is installed.

Food & Nutrition

There are 2 communal lounges at Avondale and a separate dining room. Avondale ensure that home cooked meals, sweets, desserts and cakes are freshly prepared daily. Meals can be taken in the dining room at specific meal times, or room service is available as an alternative.

Our focus is to provide a variety of facilities and opportunities for your loved one to lead a happy and fulfilling life. It’s extremely important to us that our residents think of Avondale as their home. It’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Residents are free to choose the time they would like breakfast and can choose anything from a traditional cooked breakfast, cereals toast with preserves, porridge or fruit. Lunchtime meals are a set menu, however special diets, likes and dislikes are always catered for and an alternative cooked as required. Evening dinner consists of a choice of light meals and a sweet. In addition to these meals, mid morning and mid afternoon tea breaks with biscuits and or cakes are served each day, and residents can order other drinks or snacks at any other time of the day or night.

Activities

We are dedicated to ensuring that our residents are content and fulfilled in their lives. We are happy to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment for our residents. Our dedicated Activity Coordinator ensures that there is always something fascinating going on for them to enjoy, including our regular and engaging Arts & Crafts sessions.
